ACR Radiology Leadership Institute
The ACR Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI) is a 2 ½ day conference held each fall, providing professional development programming, leadership skills training, and networking opportunities for radiologists at every career stage. The IRS sponsors members and members-in-training each year.
International Day of Radiology
Coinciding with the anniversary of the discovery of X-rays, International Day of Radiology is celebrated each year on November 8th. It is a day to build greater awareness of the value of radiology, to highlight the impact that radiology has made and will continue to make on medicine. It is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the vital role that radiology has played in allowing for earlier detection, fewer/less invasive surgeries, and minimally invasive treatments.
FACR Applications
Being recognized as a Fellow of the ACR is one of the highest honors that the ACR can bestow on its members. Only 15% of current members have achieved this honor. If you have been an ACR member for over 10 years, check out the qualifying criteria and the application on the ACR website. The annual application cycle begins each January and closes in Indiana on June 17th.
Annual ACR Meeting
Each spring the ACR holds its Annual ACR meeting in Washington DC. There are workshops and lectures, elections for new leaders of the ACR, and voting on proposed resolutions that will mold the ACR’s future initiatives. The final day of the meeting is Hill Day, a day set aside for members to meet with their Congressmembers and participate in the ACR’s advocacy efforts..
